Last weekend (May 20th) I brought my younger girls from Rancho Minerva to participate in Play for Pink, a tournament to raise money to find a cure for breast cancer, held at Vista High School. The girls had to learn some new rules that took them a little bit to remember, but they caught on after a couple games. The girls had pink hairspray, make up, nail polish, you name it. Even one of the girls Dad colored his hair pink. The girls did a great job and they loved playing on the turf.
During Memorial Day weekend I took a U14 team with Rancho to Cal Cup. Cal Cup is a huge tourney that people from all over, like Taiwan, India, and Ireland come to play. They have teams ranging from 8 to 55 years old. It's a pretty big deal. I played from 6th to 12th grade and this was my first time coaching. 3 girls were from Rancho Minerva while the rest came from Madison. It was so much fun being up in Moorpark again and being around hundreds of people playing nothing but field hockey. I always love seeing the kids 10 and under playing because their sticks are so tiny. Ryan came up with me and I think he had a fun time. He's really starting to like field hockey and I'm sure if I ever move up to high school level, he'll enjoy it even more. Middle school is completely different compared to high school with less fouls and a quicker pace. But back to Cal Cup...the girls dominated pool play, but couldn't get the ball into the goal. They were sooo close every game and it didn't help having some crappy refs. I had two other girls playing on the U16 team with Rancho, but I wasn't able to watch them play, but I think their team got 3rd place! I really hope that next year I will be playing on a team, but I would be happy if I was only coaching.

2 years and Counting
Today is mine and Ryan's two year anniversary. I love seeing him every morning and hearing about his dreams, even though mine are always better than his since I dream about surviving zombie apocalypses. I love his smile and his facial expressions, especially while I tickle him. I love how he always remembers whats most important and how to not let the little stupid things get me down. We can be together all day, every day and not get sick of each other. I really love how Ryan doesn't care what other people think of him, or his style, music taste, pretty much everything. He is kind to any person he meets with sincerity and he can always make people laugh. I am so lucky that we had printing and graphics together in high school and ate Jack in the Box tacos under the tables while playing Super Mario Bros on the gameboy. Every time I see him after practice or work I get so excited I shake my knees as if i'm wagging my imaginary tail. I love everything about Ryan....what other guy would get married in an upside down cross shirt?? He makes me the happiest girl in the world and I cant wait to see what happens next!

Marking my territory
Ryan and I went to Disneyland a few weeks ago. The day started off great. The weather was overcast and the park didn't seem to be very crowded. We were just starting to look in the souvenir shops right at the entrance when I started feeling light headed. I ended up throwing up in the bathroom for 3-4 hours while Ryan sat waiting on the bench outside. I thought I could tough it out at first, but after bending over a toilet for hours I was over it. All the kids coming into the bathroom annoyed me with their whining and complaining that they're tired and hungry. How about not bringing kids under the age of 8. If they need a stroller, they shouldn't be here. Back to me being sick....I called customer service the next day and they refunded our tickets so we can go later. I hope that it won't be too long until we go back.
So yeah, the first stall you see when you go into the bathroom next to City Hall at Disneyland is my territory.

Best season yet!
I have coached field hockey for 4 years and this past season we won it all! My girls worked so hard this season and it showed. They scored 26 goals with only 2 against and only lost one game. The girls finally figured out how to score this year! I always tell them that I'd buy a candy for the girl who scores....unlike in years before where we only had about 6-7 goals the whole season, I was buying candy after every game. They were cleaning me out! At the North County Tournament they dominated during pool play and during the semis and finals it was pretty even. Both games went into overtime and I never want it to come to that again. I have to say this is the best team I have coached so far. I will be losing 9 8th graders, but all my returning players will be ready for next year. Coaching is my passion and hopefully I can move up to the high school level, but for now I love my middle school girls.

bloody mary...bloody mary...
We saw Paranormal Activity 3 the other night. Loved it! Other than the stupid guys in the theater that had to talk during the movie. Try to impress that girl you brought with you. If they get scared you might get lucky. Me and Ryan on the other hand didnt hold each others hand or cuddle. We both love scary movies and prefer watching the movie than worrying about making a move. Cant wait for the next one.

This is my creative title
I really haven't gotten back into blogging like I thought I would, but my life also doesn't revolve around being on the computer all day.
I can't remember what has happened since I last logged on but, I guess the only exciting things were changing my plates to california and seeing Harry Potter part 2 at midnight (which was kickass). The blackout that happened a couple days ago wasn't as bad for us as for everyone else. Ryan read a chapter of the Sorcerers Stone to me and after we sat outside and listened to sirens going off every 5 minutes. Heard a couple accidents too. Seems like people don't know that speeding and bumper to bumper traffic doesn't go well together. Everyone is so caught up with being online, watching TV, and being on their smart phones all the time people don't know what to do when the power is gone. How about reading more? Playing outside or exercising?
Ryan finally found out the cause for his stomach problems. He has celiac disease which is pretty much him not being able to have gluten in his food and being lactose intolerant. I never thought I would be so excited to find the gluten free products in the grocery store.
